FAQ

.:First Look: Zoids Fuzors:.

Zoids Fuzors has a lot to live up to by Zoider's standards, when you consider it's not made by the same people. so how does it stack up? Here's  Zoid's Unofficial's opinion on the first episode and what it indicates for the future.

The intro and endings aren't too bad, though Chaotic/Guardian Force had the best into, and Zoids/Zero best ending. I like the last scene where Liger Zero and Berserk Fury collide. The way the characters are drawn is really good, perhaps even better than the other series. The computer graphics aren't bad either, especially the opening where the camera zooms in on the city. However, the Zoids themselves leave something to be desired. They don't look bad, although the cell-shaded ones from the predecessors blended in better with the drawn characters and backgrounds. The biggest issues is the way they move. They don't move as smoothly and fluidly as they did in the other Zoids sagas. Liger Zero isn't too bad, though the fact that his claws never open except when he attacks is an indication of laziness, and it doesn't look as good.  The way the Command Wolf moves sucks, it's very cheap and clunky, hopefully they'll fix that in later episodes. The sound effects aren't as good either.  Or perhaps it's just that we've gotten used to the ones that were there, and the new ones take some adjusting.

Story-wise it's off to an interesting start. It seems that there are still Zoid battles, but they are held in an arena, and there is no longer a Zoid Battle Commission. IF it does relate to the previous series, then it takes place in the near-distant future. RD's dad which they keep referring to could be Bit, which would explain why RD can pilot Liger Zero. Not sure about Blake and his relation to being able to Pilot the Berserk Fury. He sucks as a pilot though, he'd better get better. It seems odd that the two legendary Ultimate X Zoids are just looked at, and piloted like normal Zoids. Also in question is how there can be so many Blade Ligers, when they are supposed to be very rare. Alpha Zoid is probably Liger Zero, I mean, the picture was a dead give away.

Still, for what it's worth I'm sure we're all glad that there's some new episodes. I think the show's got a lot of potential, and I really like the Liger Zero's new Fusion. Overall I think the show's pretty good, and with any luck it'll get even better!. Zoids Unofficial gives the first Episode an 8 out of 10.
